How Microsoft 365 for Jira by Yasoon Transformed Our Workflow

When we began our search for a solution to streamline communication between Jira, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams, we discovered Microsoft 365 for Jira. It has truly transformed our team's workflow. Like many teams, we were managing multiple tools: tracking tasks in Jira, chatting in Teams, and handling emails through Outlook. The constant context-switching made it challenging, and important information often slipped through the cracks.



What Changed with Microsoft 365 for Jira


  1. Email to Jira Integration - We can now create Jira issues directly from Outlook emails, a real game changer! No more tedious copy-pasting or forwarding. With just a few clicks, an issue is created, tagged, and assigned, complete with the full email attached for context.


  2. Teams Integration - Initially, I was a bit sceptical about this feature, but being able to start a Teams conversation from a Jira issue, or link an ongoing conversation to the issue, has significantly improved collaboration between development, support, and sales teams. Everyone stays informed right where they’re already working.


  3. Calendar Sync - This was a pleasant surprise. Having Jira deadlines and project milestones show up on my Outlook calendar has made weekly planning and resource management much easier. We’ve even started utilising the calendar views in Jira more actively because everything is now so visible.

Final Thoughts


Setting everything up was surprisingly straightforward. We connected our Microsoft 365 tenant in under 30 minutes. The documentation from Yasoon is clear, and their support team was quick to respond when we had a question. If your team is already using Jira and Microsoft 365, this add-on is a must-have. It’s well-designed, actively maintained, and tailored to real-world workflows. This isn’t just an integration; it’s a meaningful enhancement to how work gets done.
