Atlassian Teamwork Collection Learning Camp - London: Our Key Takeaways

On Thursday 27th August I got to attend Atlassian’s Teamwork Collection Learning Camp in London, a hands-on event focused on how Jira, Confluence and Loom are evolving and work together as part of the Teamwork Collection.

Most of the event was built around practical workshops, with live demos that actually worked, with no hiding behind pre-recorded segments.

Jira Workshop

The aim of the morning workshop was to take a fairly typical software development scenario and see how much of the process could be handled by AI agents directly within Jira.

We started by using Rovo to turn a series of Brainstorming and Workshop sessions, loosely collected in Confluence, into actionable work items in Jira. While the output of each Rovo session was varied, it consistently managed to output content with enough detail to implement.

Adding Agents to Status columns in a team-managed project allowed us to automatically have agents work as the work item progressed, without needing to be manually trigger at each step*.

The Triage agent allowed us to easily find and refine the previously created work items, while Jira Coding Agent implemented the code changes directly, creating live previews which could be edited and refined on the fly.

*Rovo does still work within strict guard rails, and won’t edit work without direct approval. You do need to check and approve suggested changes on each Work Item.

Confluence & Loom Workshop

The afternoon was dedicated to Confluence and Loom, and it was a great reminder of how much Confluence has evolved and what Loom can deliver when tied together into the Atlassian platform.

We saw how Confluence is no longer just a place to store pages and meeting notes: with collaborative whiteboards, databases and features such as Remix, allowing Confluence content to be quickly converted in to slides for sider business consumption.

Loom made on-demand updates feel easy: you could record a quick walkthrough, get an automatic transcript and summary, then share it for people to watch when they had time. It seemed like a simple way to keep things moving without adding another meeting.

Overall it was great seeing how Rovo Agents are evolving to work natively within the Teamwork Collection, using all the context they are given by the underlying Teamwork Graph. They can create work, be assigned work, triage it, implement it and be triggered through automation.
