Atlassian State of Teams 2025

In an exciting development aimed at better serving highly regulated industries and security-conscious enterprises, Atlassian is rolling out Atlassian Isolated Cloud—a new single-tenant cloud deployment option designed to harness the benefits of Atlassian Cloud while adhering to the strictest security and compliance requirements.

This marks a significant shift in Atlassian’s cloud strategy and is a fantastic opportunity for organisations that previously couldn’t leverage the cloud due to data residency, privacy, or legal constraints.

What is Atlassian Isolated Cloud?

Atlassian Isolated Cloud provides a dedicated, single-tenant environment where each customer operates within a private virtual cloud, featuring isolated compute, storage, and networking. Essentially, it's your infrastructure, your rules.

You'll still enjoy the agility and innovation of Atlassian Cloud—including regular updates, AI-powered features, and seamless integrations—but now within a dedicated, tightly controlled environment.

This means:

  • No shared compute or storage

  • Compartmentalised user data (PII, UGC, secrets)

  • Strict control over data ingress/egress and encryption

  • More peace of mind for industries with high stakes tied to data breaches

Who is it for?

This solution isn’t for everyone—and that’s intentional.

Atlassian Isolated Cloud is tailored specifically for:

  • Large enterprises (15,000 to 50,000+ seats)

  • Industries with high security standards such as:

    • Financial services

    • Cybersecurity and large tech

    • Healthcare

    • Critical National Infrastructure (CNI)

  • Regions starting with the US-East (EAP), with plans to expand globally

These are the customers who’ve expressed to Atlassian: “We want cloud, but we can’t compromise on our specific security and compliance.”

If you’ve found yourself tethered to Data Center due to regulatory or security requirements, this could finally be your way forward.

Why Isolated Cloud? Why now?

While Atlassian’s multi-tenant cloud already meets high security standards, it still relies on shared services to deliver speed and scale. For some, that’s a deal-breaker.

With Isolated Cloud, Atlassian is tackling:

  1. Migration blockers for Data Center customers with sensitive data

  2. Compliance-driven industries requiring single-tenant solutions

  3. A broader strategy to offer more flexible cloud deployment options, alongside Atlassian Government Cloud and the standard enterprise-grade cloud

What's Included?

At launch, Isolated Cloud will support:

  • Jira Software

  • Confluence

  • Jira Service Management

Early Access kicks off in September 2025 with General Availability anticipated between March and October 2026.

Apps will need to align with the Runs on Atlassian program and utilise the Forge platform. Apps that require third-party data sharing (e.g., Slack, GitHub) may need to adopt new strategies to comply with strict data control standards.

What about pricing?

A single-tenant environment isn’t inexpensive, and Atlassian is being transparent: Isolated Cloud will be more costly than commercial cloud or even Government Cloud. However, for customers where risk outweighs cost, it’s a valuable investment.

More detailed pricing information will be available as we approach GA.

What this means for the future

With the launch of Isolated Cloud, Atlassian is not only meeting enterprise expectations—they're aiming to lead the way in secure cloud collaboration. This is a significant step toward broadening cloud adoption across even the most risk-sensitive enterprises.

Final Thoughts

If you’ve been on the lookout for the right cloud option that balances innovation with control, Atlassian Isolated Cloud might just be the game-changer you need.
